Blackboard has the ability to quickly upload grades from a spreadsheet so that students can see the grades. Click "Read More" to view the step-by-step instructions and/or watch a video demonstration.
Written instructions
- Create a spreadsheet with the UMIDs (C numbers) in the first column and the numeric grades in the second column. (If you want to submit letter grades, you can, but it takes a few extra steps.)
- Make sure that "username" is at the top of the first column, and something short, such as "grade", is at the top of the second column. If you don't use a short name in the second column, the column will be VERY WIDE when created in the grade center.
- Save the file as Unicode Text type.
- Go to http://miami.edu/blackboard, login, and go to the course site.
- Click on Grade Center > Full Grade Center
- Click on the Work Offline button > Upload
- Use browse my computer to locate your spreadsheet and Open (upload) it
- You will be asked to confirm the columns and grades to upload.
